This is a workshop for fiction writers, or anyone interested in creating characters for comics, graphic novels, creative non-fiction, etcetera. Students will concentrate on techniques for building groups of characters with complex interior lives and interesting relationships. This workshop will include writing exercises, sharing in-class writing out loud, and discussions of students’ projects. The emphasis is on developing characters and using them effectively.
This workshop is led by Audrey Niffenegger, internationally known author of The Time Traveller's Wife, artist, and founder of Artists Book House. Prior to the workshop, students will submit up to 20 pages of writing to Audrey for review.
